Melrose Place’s Ashlee Simpson, author/actress Alicia Silverstone and Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton are featured on the upcoming October ’20s, 30s, 40s’ cover of REDBOOK magazine.

The October issue of REDBOOK hits stands on September 22nd.

Ashlee on how having Bronx changed her: “I’ve grown up so much. The great thing about being pregnant is that you have nine months and it really does prepare you. Your body is changing, and it’s such an amazing time to feel that connection. I did prenatal yoga, which was a nice way to mellow down and focus on me and Bronx. Being pregnant was the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. Except for the cupcakes.”

Ashlee on whether she ever envies Jessica for being “free”: “I really don’t. She’s always saying, ‘Oh, I want a baby!’ Being a mom’s so empowering and incredible. I’m one of those people who believes that life brings things to you at a certain time for a certain reason, and if you just go with it, that’s where the best moments come from.”

She’s diving into her role on the new CW revival of “Melrose Place” with everything she’s got, and yesterday Ashlee Simpson was spotted playing the dual role of actress and mommy.

The “Pieces of Me” songstress spent two hours on the set of her new gig, returning to her trailer to change into a plethora of outfits throughout the day.

And when she wasn’t needed on the set, Ashlee tended to her adorable little boy Bronx Mowgli, who has been spending plenty of time on location with his mom.

As could be expected, Mrs. Simpson-Wentz needed a little boost to get her through the day, hence she grabbed a can of Red Bull to help her along.

The upcoming CW revamp of ’90s nighttime soap Melrose Place was underway and filming in downtown Los Angeles on Friday (April 18).

Ashlee Simpson has joined the cast and was seen lingering on set yesterday with precious baby Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

Ashlee was spotted on the set of Melrose Place in downtown Los Angeles yesterday (April 16)!

Wanting her best to make a good impression with the cast and crew, she carried a big bag from Sprinkles cupcake shop as she arrived on set to film scenes for the remake of the hit 90’s television series.

Though hubby Pete Wentz was nowhere to be seen (and has not been seen with Ashlee in weeks!), the Fall Out Boy rocker says reports of marital problems are simply “nonsense.”

“We’re still going steady. She’s still wearing my letterman jacket,” he wrote in a letter to MTV. “And you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the Internet. It’s nonsense.”

Pete Wentz hopes his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz gets to be a diva on Melrose Place.

“I’m excited to watch. She’s a good actor,” Pete told Usmagazine.com at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. “I think it will be awesome. I told her that I hope she gets to play the bitch.”

Ashlee, 24, and Pete, 29, didn’t grow up watching the primetime drama, which went off the air in 1999.

“She was way too young, and I was a little too young,” Pete said. “I was into 90210 and I kind of got into Melrose Place, but I was more, like, a Saved By the Bell kind of guy!”

No matter: Pete says the spinoff, due to premiere in this fall on the CW, will be different than the original.

“I think they are revamping it,” he said. “They are not ignoring the past, but it’s getting a new look, a makeover.”

Ashlee told Us earlier she was “thrilled” to play a lead character named Violet, a small-town girl who moves to L.A. with a secret.

Pete — who’s most recent album with Fall Out Boy, Folie a Deux, hit stores last December — is spending time with son Bronx Mowgli, 4 months, while Ashlee prepares to return to work.

Following in the footsteps of Diddy and Taylor Swift, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz will made their big debut on “CSI: NY” on yesterday.

In a clip released early, fans got a taste of what to expect from the pop stars. The episode casts them as Chester Byron and Lila Wickfield, a young couple entangled in the world of drug-dealing.

“Well, it’s not quite Bonnie and Clyde, but they’re caught up in something, and we have to figure it out, of course,” the show’s star Gary Sinise told CBS’ “The Early Show.”

Pete sounds pretty excited about playing a criminal, telling People magazine, “I wish I got the chance to be murdered or rob a bank, but I heard the makeup takes much longer for that.”

In the past, the Wentzes appeared together on “Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan,” and they’ve each done some acting work on their own. “It’s easy to play passionate roles with the person you love,” Pete told the magazine. “There’s nothing weird about it when you love the person.”

And this won’t be Ashlee’s last TV role: The singer/actress was recently cast in the remake of “Melrose Place” expected to air on the CW this fall. “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of ‘Melrose Place’ and look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents,” Simpson-Wentz told MTV News.

On the show, she played Violet, a small-town girl who is very manipulative, using her girl-next-door charm to get what she wants.

Ashlee has been looking for a way to balance work and family life properly, so Melrose Place is perfect for her. “She wanted something stable so she could be close to her baby. She was specifically looking for something in television as her next step, that filmed in Los Angeles, so she wouldn’t have to be away from Bronx.”

In the remake of the series, Ashlee will play a small-town girl trying her luck in L.A. and will display a “disarming naiveté that masks the calculating, shrewd sex kitten within,” according to Entertainment Weekly. Filming starts in April, and Ashlee’s really excited!

“Music is still a passion but [Ashlee] felt this was the best thing for her and her family at this point in her life. She’s really excited about Melrose Place.”
